Camilo Velasquez is an artist and art educator who has been Interim Director of the Anita S. Wooten Gallery at Valencia College since January 2018. His mixed media artwork has been exhibited locally and internationally as he continues to produce pieces that are very personal in nature. His serious studies of art began with his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from La Universidad Nacional de Colombia where he graduated first in his class and was awarded a post-graduate scholarship. He received a Master of Arts in Painting from New York Institute of Technology and, since 1999, has shared his passion for fine art instructing in drawing and design at Valencia College. Mr. Velasquez has led classes in painting and design at the University of Central Florida and Crealde School of Art (where he also served as Interim Director of Painting and Drawing) . He also instructed a Foundation course at Rollins College. He has worked both with teams of professionals and teams of students to create murals both here and in Colombia. Two of these murals may be seen at the Orlando Science Center and two at the School of Criminal Justice at Valencia College East Campus. Having adjudicated national and international art events, Mr. Velasquez is honored to serve as juror for the Winter Springs Art Festival.
Courtney Canova received his Illustration degree from The Ringling College of Art and Design. In addition to his photography and graphics design business, he is an adjunct professor at Valencia College teaching drawing and design classes.
